Workforce Development

To help achieve our mission, MHOA offers a variety of workforce development programs for local public health departments and boards of health. We also partner with other associations, state and local agencies, and training centers to provide additional training opportunities on the latest public health topics.

MHOA members always receive a discount on all registration fees!


Signature MHOA Programs:

Annual Conference
A 3 day event for MA public health professionals to hear about the latest public health topics, learn new skills, and network with other local public health colleagues. Speakers from national, state and local agencies are invited each year. 

Quarterly Meetings
Two-hour interactive sessions on popular public health topics and opportunities for networking.

MHOA/MassDEP Winter Seminar Series
An annual event to provide the latest MassDEP updates and training on relevant and timely topics.

MHOA/MDPH Community Sanitation Spring Seminar Series
An annual event to provide the latest CSP updates and training on relevant and timely topics.

MHOA Summer Webinar Series: Lunch and Learn

One-hour learning sessions that are free for MHOA members.  All webinars are from 1pm to 2pm unless noted otherwise.

Registered Sanitarian Online Prep Course

MHOA and MEHA, in partnership, are pleased to offer our members this RS/REHS online prep course by Walter Saraniecki at a reduced rate of $425. This 33-hour online prep course is designed to help you pass the REHS exam! This is a members-only benefit from MHOA and MEHA.

Academic Public Health Corps (APHC)
