MHOA Codes of Conduct

Member Code of Conduct:

Members of Massachusetts Health Officers Association (“MHOA”) are expected to follow rules of conduct that will protect the interest and safety of all members, volunteers, staff, and partners of MHOA.

As a member of MHOA, I pledge:

  • To listen, work with and respect the opinions of other MHOA members,
    volunteers, staff, and partners.
  • To represent MHOA in a positive and supportive manner.
  • To display courteous conduct in all MHOA events, trainings,
    conferences, and meetings, (hereinafter, “MHOA event”).

The following are only some examples of inappropriate conduct which could lead to removal of membership in MHOA:

  • Theft during a member event;
  • Unauthorized possession, distribution, sale, transfer, or use of illegal
    drugs at a member event;
  • Rude, disrespectful, or discourteous conduct at a member event;
  • Creating a disturbance at a member event;
  • Behaving in a manner which could jeopardize the safety of others while
    at a member event;
  • Harassment of any kind while at a member event, including sexual
    harassment;
  • Harassment, including sexual harassment, of members, volunteers,
    staff, and/or partners of MHOA at any time.

Violations of the Member Code of Conduct may be reported to a member of the MHOA Board of Directors or the Executive Director.

MHOA values all its members, volunteers, staff, and partners. Together we can create a collegial and supportive environment for everyone!

Event Code of Conduct:

Anyone who participates in a Massachusetts Health Officers Association (“MHOA”) event is expected to follow rules of conduct that will protect the interest and safety of all event attendees, members, volunteers, staff, and partners of MHOA.

As an MHOA event attendee, I agree:

  • To display courteous conduct in all MHOA events, trainings, conferences, and meetings, (hereinafter, “MHOA event”).
  • To listen, work with and respect the opinions of other MHOA event attendees, members, volunteers, staff, and partners.

The following are only some examples of inappropriate conduct which could lead to removal from the event and participation in any future MHOA events:

  • Theft during a MHOA event;
  • Unauthorized possession, distribution, sale, transfer, or use of illegal drugs at a MHOA event;
  • Rude, disrespectful, or discourteous conduct at a MHOA event;
  • Creating a disturbance at a MHOA event;
  • Behaving in a manner which could jeopardize the safety of others while at a MHOA event;

  • Harassment, including sexual harassment, of members, volunteers, staff, and/or partners of MHOA at any time.
