Please join me in welcoming Sophie Antoine to the MHOA Board of Directors. Sophie was elected during the April Board of Directors meeting.

She currently serves as the Health Equity coordinator for the city of Medford, Massachusetts. In this capacity, she provides advocacy for the protection and advancement of public health within the community. She is a graduate of the Diverse Executives Leading in Public Health (DELPH) program through the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the Satcher Health Leadership Institute (SHLI) at Morehouse School of Medicine. Sophie was elected to an at-large seat recently vacated when Roberto Santamaria (Nantucket Health and Human Services) resigned in anticipation of his new role outside local public health as executive director of a Nantucket behavioral health center. Sophie will fill the remaining time on the at-large seat term, and members will elect and/or re-elect at-large members of the Board of Directors during the annual conference in November.
MHOA thanks Roberto for his service on the MHOA Board of Directors. We wish him well in his new job.
And warmest welcome to Sophie!
The Board of Directors will meet next week on May 16 at 1 p.m., following the Green Burials training and lunch. All MHOA members are welcome at Board of Directors meetings.
